CSC Show Team Brings Home the Purple from Dixie Nationals

The Connors State College (CSC) beef show team brought home a fair share of purple in their most recent trip to Jackson, Mississippi. CSC show team coaches Blake Nelson and  Dale Pitchford had their hands full with the seven head of calves that needed to be fit up and ready for show in the Dixie Nationals competition. With the help of show team members Christina Damron, Jori McPeak, Katie Bullard, Hunter Dauck and Matt Lowrimore, the CSC show team was able to have a successful run in Jackson.

Connors State College made out like bandits in the Simmental and Percentage Simmental shows. In the Percentage Simmental heifers division, CRN Glory 49Y, who was exhibited by Dale Pitchford, easily took division champion in her set of classes. She was taken back in the ring for overall grand and reserve where she received Reserve Champion Percentage Simmental Heifer. In the Percentage Simmental bulls division, CRN Steel Force 178Y, exhibited by Matt Lowrimore, commanded everyone’s attention, including the judge’s, as he walked into the ring. He took division champion and overall Grand Champion Percentage Simmental Bull. The Pureblood Simmental bulls division was Connors’ final round of competition and Moonshiner Y91 was fluffed up and ready to head into the ring. He out-powered his competition to pick up both division champion and Grand Champion Pureblood Simmental bull.

The CSC show team’s next stop is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where they will be taking several head of Santa Gertrudis cattle along with a few Angus heifers. Connors is expected to bring home another couple of wins from Houston.
