Several Connors State College students were recently awarded scholarships for academic excellence at the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) awards luncheon. Jeremy Coltharp, general studies major, and Callie Shannon, agriculture major, received a certificate and scholarship for $1,000 each to help defray the cost of attendance while attending Connors State College. Three members of the Mu Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society were selected for the All-Oklahoma Academic Team. The members: Tiffany Geisler, nursing major, Stacey Dawes, pre-nursing major, and Robey Keys, business administration major, received a medallion, a certificate and a transfer scholarship of $1,000 each from the Coca-Cola Foundation. The transfer scholarship is to be used at a four-year institution to defray the cost of attendance.
Ryan Blanton, Executive Director of the CSC Development Foundation, represented Connors and presented the certificates and medallions to the scholars. Tiffany Geisler is the President for the Mu Chi chapter; Stacey Dawes is President of the Math and Science Club; and Robey Keys graduated in December and is enrolled at NSU in Business Adminstration. Geisler and Dawes will graduate in May and will continue their nursing education.
