Title:Admissions Clerk
Reports to:Registrar

Duties and Responsibilities:

JOB OVERVIEW:  The Admissions Clerk processes daily application, enrollment, grading and graduation documents into students' files and into SCT computer system. Must be available to students at the counter and on the telephone and required to respond to students by e-mail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must communicate with students over the counter, by telephone and by e-mail
  • Must possess knowledge of State Regents and Connors State College policies and procedures
  • Must have working knowledge of college and university catalogs in relation to student degree planning and transfer functions
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
  • Must be multi-tasked and able to meet deadlines
  • Must enter admissions and enrollment data accurately into SCT
  • Must possess excellent people skills, be adaptable to changing work environment, and able to organize and prioritize work assignments with short notice
  • Must be able to work effectively in a high volume, somewhat stressful work environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Work, MS Excel and ACT information systems
  • Ability to type accurately while paying close attention to details
  • Assists in prioritizing and planning overall office functions
  • Processes academic records such as faculty class rolls, grade mailers, admissions and enrollment documents and transcripts while adhering to Federal privacy laws

  • Must possess knowledge of Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Policies and Procedures
  • Must possess knowledge of Connors State College Policies and Procedures
  • Must have working knowledge of college and university catalogs in relation to student degree planning and transfer functions
  • Must have ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
  • Must be multi-tasked and able to meet deadlines
  • Must enter admissions and enrollment data accurately into SCT
  • Must possess excellent people skills, be adaptable to changing work environment, and be able to organize and prioritize work assignments with short notice
  • Must be able to work effectively in high volume, somewhat stressful work environment
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Work, MS Excel and SCT information systems
  • Must have ability to type accurately while paying close attention to detail
  • Must possess positive attitude and the maturity to function in a provisional office environment where tasks must be aligned to meet deadlines and priorities
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Background in higher education desired

Special Requirements:  

  • Job may include evening hours and some Saturdays during enrollment periods 
  • Travel between campuses may be required
