The quiet summer at Connors State College came to a halt as more than 100 students returned to campus on Sat., Aug. 16, for Move In Day. Students and their parents brought bags of items, refrigerators, bed linens and more to settle into the campus dorms.
“We helped a lot of people move in and get settled,” said Student Services Director Mike Jackson. “It’s nice to have the students back on campus full-time.”
After a long day of moving and unpacking, the student activities department treated students to a Welcome Back Luau where they enjoyed a cookout, cardboard boat races, limbo, a watermelon eating contest and an outdoor movie.
“We wanted to give the students a chance to reconnect and make new friends,” said Cody Clovis, student activities coordinator. “I think they had a lot of fun.”
More than 300 students have moved to campus so far.
