arner, Okla- Connors State College hosted the annual Fall Bull sale December 3, 2020 at the bull test facility on the Warner campus. The sales highest selling bull sold for $10,500, a Maine bull, produced by Jerry McPeak of Warner, Okla.
The CSC show team hosted the bull sale, with help from the livestock judging team. The CSC livestock judging team helped with paperwork, penning cattle, and call in bids. The show team worked concessions, and throughout out the semester calculated the performance reports. The livestock judging team had a booth set up, as well as, the CSC shooting team, another team within the Division of Agriculture.
“We [CSC] were very happy with the set of bulls the producers consigned to our Fall 2020 Bull Sale,” said Dr. Ron Ramming, CSC President. “The buyers wanted to reward the producers for their excellent livestock, thus generating a record setting average.”
A total of 44 bulls by 16 producers entered this year’s sale. Sim-Angus bull 488, consigned by Monty Nail, started the sale as the top performance sire. The total average of the sale amounted to $3,423.86.
“In my time at CSC, I have enjoyed being a member of the show team because it has given me a more in-depth opportunity to learn about production agriculture,” said Blayke Bolen, CSC sophomore and show team member. “The bulls this year proved great success in record setting numbers, performance and overall quality.”
