Connors State College hosted for the 20th year a Science Camp on the Warner campus in July.
Under the direction of Dr. Stuart Woods, instructor of Biological Science at Connors State College, young scientists will take part in Gear Up each week on the CSC campus. Gear Up is funded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
The participants came from every section of Oklahoma to take part in the week long camps. They lived on the Warner campus during their stay and were housed at Millers Crossing, part of CSCs housing complex.
This was totally a science camp, said Dr. Woods. They were involved in trapping endangered insects, taking a population survey, involved with archery and fisheries.
We will have a department of wildlife fishery individual to speak to the group, said Dr. Woods.
Part of the activities took part at the Harding Ranch near Warner, according to Dr. Woods and included such activities as studying birds, snakes, reptiles and assist with a research project. Other activities include team building.
