Jared Young is a Canadian professional baseball player who currently plays as an infielder in the Chicago Cubs organization.
Young began his college baseball career at Minot State University, where he earned All-Region honors, before transferring to Connors in 2016. With the Cowboys, Young would hit .480 with 11 home runs and drive in over 50 RBIs. After his junior season at Old Dominion, the Chicago Cubs then drafted him in the 15th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
Since joining the Cubs organization, Young has played in various minor league teams, including the Eugene Emeralds, South Bend Cubs, and Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He has shown promising talent throughout his minor league career, hitting .283 with 21 home runs, 133 RBIs, and a .775 OPS in 267 games.
As a Canadian baseball player, Jared Young has earned the opportunity to represent Team Canada in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. However, this is nothing new to Young, as he has already represented Canada in international competition, playing for the national team in the 2019 Pan American Games.
Facing the United States, Jared stepped in the box to face a 2-time Major League All-Star and World Series Champion, Lance Lynn. With the count at 1-0 in the top of the second, Young would connect on an 89 mph sinker and drive it out of Chase Field.

Clearly, no stage is too bright for Young, who is only at the beginning of a promising career in professional baseball.
