Festivities for the annual Aggie Coronation were conducted on January 26th at halftime of the Connors State College Cowboys basketball game versus Eastern Oklahoma College. A longstanding tradition at Connors, this ceremony showcases the beautiful young women of the Agriculture Department, all of which are escorted by gentlemen also in Ag-related studies. There were sixteen young women representing both freshmen and sophomore classifications that participated in the evenings events. The candidates include freshmen Emily Baird, Kylie Duggan, Cassie Godwin, Cecile Harris, Jori McPeak, Lynsey Meharg, and Staci Simeroth. Sophomore participants were: Hattie Anastasio, Kris Bautista, Lindsay Bowman, Jordan Burney, Olivia Foster, Laine Martin, Jessica Miller, and Kinsley Swepston. Claire Martin of Curryville, Missouri was crowned as Aggie Queen, ushered by Clay Carlson from Stoneham, Colorado. Claire is a sophomore member of the Livestock Judging Team, serving her second term as a Connors State College Agriculture Ambassador, officer in Aggie Club, and an Animal Science Major. Monday, January 30th, she will represent the Agriculture Department in the school-wide selection of Homecoming Queen. Excellent job to all participants and Good Luck Claire!
