Transfer Credit

Acceptance of Transfer Credits

Connors State College records all credits earned at institutions that are accredited by accrediting associations such as The Higher Learning Commission excluding continuing education and clock hour courses. Students are required to submit official transcripts from all institutions attended regardless of credit earned and/or applicability to their degree plan.
Once a student is currently enrolled in course work at Connors State College, transfer credits will be recorded from the official transcript of each institutionally accredited institution attended by the student. All coursework attempted by the student will be recorded onto the official Connors State transcript. Transfer credits are accepted and applied to degree programs generally in accordance with the recommendations in the Transfer Credit Practices Guide published by AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers).

Course Equivalency

Most general education-type courses and courses from various other disciplines have been evaluated by Oklahoma colleges and universities to determine statewide equivalency as part of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Course Equivalency Project. To look up an equivalency for a course taken at an Oklahoma college/university, you may go to the Oklahoma Higher Education website: http://www.okhighered.org/transfer-students/course-transfer.shtml. Connors State College also maintains a matrix of out of state courses that have already been reviewed for course equivalency. A student can review this matrix once they have been accepted to Connors State and have activated their student account. For courses not found on either equivalency matrix, the student may request an evaluation for course equivalency by submitting a Course Equivalency Request. These requests are evaluated by the appropriate faculty through Connors State College’s Course Equivalency Oversight Committee.

Articulation Policy

In accordance with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Connors State College fully participates in the articulation policy for the transfer of students among Oklahoma public institutions. A student transferring from Connors State College with an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree will be considered to have completed the general education requirements of the baccalaureate degree at any State System institution. There may be some exceptions to this policy, where some students may have to take additional courses in general education to meet minimum professional certification requirements as defined by the state.

Articulation Agreements

In order to help streamline transfer, Connors State College does have articulation agreements with other institutions and the associated plans of study are posted on our College Catalog page. These articulation agreements may be modified or terminated by any institution involved at any time.
