CSC – Applying for Financial Aid

1. Fill Out the FAFSA
   • The FAFSA is the form you complete to see if you qualify for grants, loans, or work-study.
   • Apply at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
   • CSC School Code: 003153
   • Use your 2024 taxes for the 2026 – 2027 FAFSA.
2. Check your FAFSA Submission Summary
   • After you submit the FAFSA, the government sends you a FAFSA Submission Summary.
     • Make sure everything looks correct:
       • Your name and SSN
       • Contributor information
       • Income details
       • Signatures
     • If something is wrong, log in to studentaid.gov and fix it.
3. Turn in Any Extra Documents
   • Sometimes Financial Aid needs more information from you.
   • You might be asked for:
     • Tax forms or W-2s
     • Verification paperwork
     • Proof of citizenship
     • Proof of independence
     • SAP appeal forms
   • Your aid cannot be processed until all documents are complete.
4. Check & Accept Your Aid in MyCSC
   • When everything is processed, your awards will appear in your MyCSC account.
   • Steps:
     • Log in to MyCSC
     • Open Self-Service
     • Click Financial Aid
     • Choose the year
     • Review your awards
     • Accept or decline what you want to use
   • If you only want part of a loan, you can accept a smaller amount.
5. Keep Your Aid by Staying Eligible
   • You must meet CSC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP):
     • Keep at least a 2.0 GPA
     • Complete 67% of your classes
     • Stay within 150% of your program length
   • If you fall below these standards, your aid may stop.

Important Dates to Remember

Deadlines change each semester, but here’s a typical example:

• Fall 2025 final deadline to finish financial aid: November 20, 2025

Loan deadlines are earlier so they can process on time.
Apply early — at least 6 weeks before classes start.

Special Situations

You may qualify for extra help if:

• Your family’s income changed or other special circumstances
• You are unable to locate your parents or other unusual circumstances
