The focus of Connors State College during the COVID-19 pandemic times is to protect all individuals. After careful consideration for the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, CSC will establish procedures and protocols to support current and future needs in line with the CDC, the Oklahoma Department of Public Health, the OSU A&M Board of Regents, and the Muskogee County Health Department. We will continue efforts to mitigate the transmission of COVID 19 within athletics, programs, and the CSC campuses.
As new information and guidelines are received, we will update our protocols.
Mask Policy
- All CSC students, staff, faculty, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and visitors may wear a face covering (mask) upon entering any campus building. We know that COVID-19 can be spread when people are asymptomatic, which means they don’t know they are sick. Wearing face coverings has been shown to reduce the spread of COVID- 19 to others. It’s important to our employees and students that CSC is a safe place to work and study, and taking this step creates a safe environment for all of us as advised by the CDC.
- As a reminder, face coverings do not replace the need to maintain social distancing, frequent handwashing, and our rigorous cleaning and disinfecting routines. This step is about keeping you safe and it’s showing that you care about your fellow Cowboys and are doing your part to keep our campus community safe.
Protocol for Non-Residential Students on Campuses
- All non-residential students will be instructed to immediately report any symptoms of COVID-19 to Jody Butler, 918-463-6215, Muskogee Campus Administrator, or Mike Jackson, Dean of Students, at 918-463-6351 or Jake Lawson, Assistant Dean of Students, at 918-463-6387 in Warner.
- Any student exhibiting such symptoms will be asked to wear a mask.
- The Campus Administrator or Dean or Assistant Dean of Students will arrange to have the student’s temperature taken. If the student has a fever equal to 100.4 the student will be referred to the Muskogee County Health Department (MCHD), 918-683-0321 for a COVID-19 screening.
- The student will not attend any practice or class. Temporary arrangement for classes will be made through the Vice President of Academic Affairs Office.
- Until the results of the tests are received, students must follow the guidance from the MCHD and plan to shelter in a safe place.
- If the MCHD determines that the fever is not COVID-19 related, the student will not need to follow these protocols.
- Should a residential student or students test positive for COVID-19, arrangements will be made to move the student to an isolation room. The MCHD will provide guidance.
- The MCHD will complete the contact tracing.
- Students who are determined to be primary contacts will be contacted by the Muskogee County Health Department.
- The practice area, classroom, equipment, locker room, weights, any restroom, or cafeteria that the student may have used should be immediately cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected in a manner consistent with CDC guidelines.
- Students will not be able to return to campus until approved by the Muskogee County Health Department.
Consultation with the Muskogee County Health Department will assist in guiding CSC and student throughout this process.
Signs
CSC will post signs in highly visible locations (e.g., building entrances, restrooms, dining areas) that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to stop the spread of germs (properly washing hands and properly wearing a cloth face.)
