WARNER, Okla. — Connors State College is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Moore as the new Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach.
Moore brings more than 20 years of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience to Connors State College. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for The Florida Soccer School, overseeing camps, tournaments, coaching education events, and recruiting showcases throughout the year. Prior to that role, he spent seven seasons as the inaugural head men’s soccer coach at Indiana University East, where he built the program from the ground up and led the Red Wolves to seven consecutive River States Conference Tournament appearances. During his tenure, the program produced 17 All-Conference selections, 31 Academic All-Conference honorees, and graduated 38 student-athletes.
Before Indiana University East, Moore served as head coach at Clarke University, where he guided the program to some of the most successful seasons in school history, and previously held head coaching positions at Bethany College and Concordia University Chicago. Throughout his career, he has earned conference Coach of the Year honors, coached numerous all-conference and scholar-athletes, and helped student-athletes advance to professional playing careers.
A graduate of Greenville University, Moore holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and multiple United Soccer Coaches licenses. He and his wife, Alison, a voice performance professor at Northeastern State University, reside in Tahlequah with their two daughters, Maddy and Lauren.
Moore said he is eager to begin building on the foundation already in place at Connors State.
“I am incredibly excited and honored to take over the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Connors State College,” Moore said. “Throughout my coaching career, I’ve enjoyed taking on the challenge of building programs and helping them reach their full potential. What excites me most about Connors State is the amount of unrealized potential within both programs.”
Moore believes the college, athletic department and student-athletes provide a strong foundation for future success.
“I believe Connors State has all the ingredients necessary for long-term success,” he said. “Since accepting the position, I’ve already had the opportunity to speak with a number of returning players, and their enthusiasm for the future has only reinforced my belief that we can accomplish something special together.”
Moore said he looks forward to building a culture that players, alumni, and the surrounding community can take pride in.
“I can’t wait to get started and begin the process of building Connors State Soccer into a program that our players, alumni, and community can be proud of,” he said.
