Title:Agriculture Instructor/Livestock Judging Coach
Reports to:Director of Farm Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: 11-month continuing position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach Agriculture classes, a minimum of 6 hours per semester
  • Coach Livestock Judging team
  • Serve as an Academic Advisor to Agriculture students
  • Lead recruiter/coordinator of recruitment for the Division of Agriculture
  • Co-sponsor of Aggie Club, the departmental student organization
  • Assist with all departmental activities as assigned
  • Participate in the development of new courses
  • Coordinate Livestock Judging camps
  • Serve as liaison to the Agriculture Alumni Association

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work well with a diverse population
  • Computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to act ethically and socially responsible

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in Agriculture preferred, BS in Agriculture required
  • Collegiate Livestock Judging Team coaching experience preferred
  • Collegiate livestock judging experience required
  • Teaching experience in a two-year college setting preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and occasional weekends
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds
